Therapy for Creatives

therapy for creatives

As human beings we are inherently creative, whether the way we currently live reflects this vibrantly to us or not. Some of my work is with professionals in the creative arts, and some is with people who haven’t yet pursued their most creative impulses.  Creativity is about daring to try things that scare us a little (or a lot). It’s about facing the many challenges associated with being seen – putting ourselves on the line in a hugely personal way. Our sessions will address this, helping you to become more comfortable facing the unknown with confidence.

I can help you to:

  • connect to your buried talents

  • enter into a spirit of play

  • consider how perfectionism can drive or inhibit us in making beautiful things

  • acknowledge the demands a competitive and precarious livelihood places on you

  • take the steps you need to look after yourself as you pursue your creative potential

  • form a compassionate relationship with the parts of you that are frightened by, or fighting against, creative projects

  • understand how the personal and the professional interplay

  • get to the roots of what motivates you to do what you do

  • explore artistic media such as clay, paint, pastels, charcoal, creative writing,  movement, hotseating and chairwork to expand your creative flow

  • understand and gently release the tensions and blocks you carry around self-expression

  • recognise the signs of burnout and take steps to rebalance

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
